The format for the 41st Sports Emmys changed to a virtual environment, but ESPN’s leadership position – in the form of an industry-best eight Emmys – is the same as it ever was.
“At a time when we have been reminded of the important place sports has in the lives of fans, we are thrilled to have our efforts honored with eight Sports Emmy Awards,” said ESPN Executive Vice President, Content, Connor Schell.
One representative example of the different type of awards show the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) put forth comes from some of the team who worked on E60’s “The Squad: 44 Years, 41 Allegations.” Below: Senior editor Mike Drago, reporter Mark Fainaru-Wada and coordinating producer Tim Hays react to their team’s Sports Emmys recognition.
