College GameDay Built by The Home Depot will be live in Philadelphia, on Saturday, Dec. 9, ahead of the Army-Navy matchup. The premier college football pregame show will originate from XFINITY Live, in proximity of Lincoln Financial Field. This is GameDay’s fourth visit to the Army-Navy game, and the last show of the regular season. Actor, comedian and former U.S. Marine Rob Riggle will be this week’s guest picker.
The seven-time Emmy Award-winning show is hosted by Rece Davis, who is joined by analysts Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard and David Pollack, as well as contributors Chris ‘The Bear’ Fallica, Jen Lada, Tom Rinaldi, Maria Taylor and Gene Wojciechowski.
College GameDay Features
- The Loneliest Players – The Army offense is first on the ground, but last in the air – which makes the Army wide receivers the loneliest players in college football
- This is for Jasper – Jarren Jasper, son of Navy offensive coordinator Ivin Jasper, is facing the fight of his life after doctors discovered he has a rare heart condition that will require transplant surgery
- Upset for the Ages – a lookback at Army’s historic win in 2016
College GameDay and Coach Corso Facts (courtesy of Chris ‘The Bear’ Fallica)
- This is the fourth Army-Navy Game from which GameDay will originate
- Corso has picked Navy to win with his headgear pick each of the last three years
- GameDay has been to 14 games this year, only two – Penn State at Ohio State and West Virginia at TCU were decided by single digits.
- Of the 14 games GameDay has been to this season, Corso has picked the favorite in 13 of the 14 games the show has attended
- GameDay has only originated from West Point once – September 27, 2003 for the South Florida vs. Army game – but for the only time in show history, it had to be cancelled mid-show due to lightning; the show has never originated from Annapolis
