ESPN College Football Week 10 – TV Schedule, College GameDay, and More

ESPN’s college football game schedule for this week will be highlighted by No. 1 Mississippi State (against Arkansas on Saturday, Nov. 1, at 7:15 p.m. ET on ESPN2), No. 2 Florida State (at Louisville on Thursday, Oct. 30, at 7:30 p.m. on ESPN) and No. 4 Auburn at No. 7 Ole Miss in a showdown between one-loss SEC West Division teams (Saturday, Nov. 1, at 7 p.m. on ESPN and ESPN Radio). The lineup will showcase two additional matchups between ranked teams on Saturday, Nov. 1:

  • ABC will televise one-loss No. 10 TCU at No. 20 West Virginia at 3:30 p.m. as part of a split national telecast that also includes Purdue at No. 17 Nebraska with reverse mirror coverage on ESPN2.
  • A late night ESPN telecast at 10:30 p.m. will pit one- loss No. 14 Arizona at No. 25 UCLA.

This week’s Saturday Night Football telecast at 8 p.m. on ABC will offer split national coverage of two one-loss teams hosting conference foes: No. 11 Kansas State against Oklahoma State and No. 13 Ohio State against Illinois. ESPN3 will also provide full coverage of both games.

ESPN’s College GameDay Visits Morgantown in advance of No. 10 TCU at No. 20 West Virginia

ESPN’s College GameDay Built by The Home Depot – college football’s longest running and most celebrated pregame show – will make a stop in Morgantown, W.Va., (Saturday  9 a.m. – noon ET) for a Big 12 showdown between AP-ranked No. 10 TCU (6-1, 3-1) and No. 20 West Virginia (6-2, 4-1 ) on Saturday, Nov. 1  (3:30 p.m. ET, ABC/ESPN2).

Hosted by Chris Fowler, the GameDay team consists of analysts Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard and David Pollack with reporting by Samantha Ponder, Tom Rinaldi, Scott Van Pelt, George Whitfield and Gene Wojciechowski.  Fowler, Herbstreit and Heather Cox will have the call of the game between TCU and West Virginia.

 College GameDay Nuggets:

  • This is headgear selection number 250 for Lee Corso. Lee is 7-2 this year and 171-78 since the headgear pick became a show staple in 1996.
  • Lee Corso has picked TCU three times, and the Horned Frogs have won all three (by 40, 27 and 31 points), with two of the three wins coming on the road.
  • Lee Corso has never picked West Virginia, and a Mountaineers pick Saturday would represent the 51st different team Lee has picked in a headgear game.
  • This is the 2nd straight week – and 28th time – the show has been to the site of a game between an AP Top 10 team on the road and a team ranked 20th or lower. Each of the last two times the show has been to a game fitting into this category, the home team has pulled the upset (LSU over Ole Miss last week and USC over Stanford last year). However, those are the exceptions and not the norm. The USC win last year snapped a 13-game losing streak by home teams in this scenario (6-21 in previous 27 games).

SEC Network: SEC Nation Spends Saturday in Missouri; Tripleheader Game Schedule

SEC Network heads into Week 10 of the 2014 college football kicking off Saturday, Oct. 25, with SEC Nation live in Columbia, Mo., from 10-noon ET followed by a tripleheader of Southeastern Conference gridiron action.

Tim Tebow, Marcus Spears, Paul Finebaum, host Joe Tessitore and reporter Kaylee Hartung will bring the sights & sounds of the tailgating scene prior to Kentucky at Missouri football game also airing on SEC Network. The network’s traveling pre-game show set will be live in front of the university’s iconic Columns in the Francis Quadrangle.

LSU, Texas A&M and Tennessee Revealed as Next SEC Nation Stops

SEC Network’s traveling pre-game show, SEC Nation, has set its next three Southeastern Conference campus stops to meet its goal of visiting all 14 schools. The next slate of Saturdays includes LSU, Texas A&M and Tennessee. SEC Nation, featuring Joe Tessitore, Tim Tebow, Marcus Spears, Paul Finebaum and Kaylee Hartung, brings the sights and sounds of a college football Saturday in the SEC every week, 10 a.m. – noon ET on SEC Network.

At every campus scheduled the show aims to visit non-traditional television locations in an effort to embed itself within pre-existing SEC fandom. This week’s SEC Nation was previously announced. The show will be live in front of The Columns at the Francis Quadrangle on the campus of Missouri. The following week the show heads to Death Valley prior to the Top 20 matchup of No. 3 Alabama at No. 16 LSU. It will mark the first time that Spears, an All-American at LSU, will visit the campus with the show.

SEC Nation then road trips west with a visit to the Aggies at Texas A&M’s Spence Park and concludes its inaugural tour of SEC campuses with Tennessee, airing live from “The Hill” in front of Ayres Hall on Saturday, Nov. 22. The show’s location for Week 14, the final week of the regular season, will be decided at a later date.

ESPNU Road Trip Visited Stillwater for No. 22 West Virginia vs. Oklahoma State

ESPNU Road Trip (Wednesday, Oct. 29, at 6 p.m.) traveled to Stillwater, Okla. this past weekend for a Big 12 showdown between No. 22 West Virginia and Oklahoma State.

Highlights include:

  • Homecoming: ESPNU Road Trip will bring you to “America’s Greatest Homecoming Celebration” as the show participates in Friday night’s “Walk-around” celebration and the annual homecoming parade.
  • Eats: No show is complete without a stop at a local hot spot. This week, ESPNU’s traveling show ate at Eskimo Joe’s to try the famous cheese fries.
  • The Program: Joran Eichenblatt and Rayven Tirado speak with Oklahoma State head football coach Mike Gundy and one of the team’s biggest supporters, T. Boone Pickens. Gundy talks about the state and growth of the program and Pickens explains his love for the team and the university.
  • Cowboy Football: Partake in one of the best atmospheres in college football as ESPNU Road Trip is on the sideline for the Mountaineers vs. Cowboys.
