ESPN has had a long-standing commitment to the NCAA Men’s Division I Ice Hockey Championship.
2016 marks the 37th year that ESPN has televised college hockey’s championship game, the 22nd year televising the Frozen Four and the 12th year covering every game from the tournament. ESPN’s first college hockey championship telecast was in 1980 from Providence, R.I. That year featured North Dakota defeating Northern Michigan, 5-2.
This year, the Frozen Four will be held in Tampa, Fla. ESPN2 will televise the semifinals live tonight at 5 p.m. ET (Boston College versus Quinnipiac) and 8:30 p.m. (Denver versus North Dakota) and the final on Saturday, April 9, at 8 p.m.
