Eight Hours of Live U.S. Senior Open Championship to Air on ESPN Platforms
The world’s top senior golfers will be in action in the U.S. Senior Open Championship and live coverage of the first two rounds will air on ESPN2, ESPN3 and WatchESPN on Thursday and Friday, July 12-13, from 3-7 p.m. ET.
The 33rd U.S. Senior Open Championship will be the first to be held at Indianwood Country Club in Lake Orion, Mich., located north of Detroit. Defending champion Olin Browne, who won his title at Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio, and 2010 winner Bernhard Langer are expected to be among the competitors along with all-time golf greats Tom Watson, Hale Irwin and Nick Price. Eleven former event champions are entered.
Sean McDonough will anchor the U.S. Senior Open telecasts with two-time U.S. Open champions Andy North and Curtis Strange. On-course reporter Bill Kratzert and NBC announcers Mark Rolfing and Dottie Pepper also will contribute to the telecasts.
All U.S. Senior Open programming on ESPN2 and ESPN3 will also be available on computers, smartphones and tablets through WatchESPN.com and the free WatchESPN app, which are accessible to fans who receive their video service from an affiliated provider. ESPN Mobile TV will have live mobile video simulcasts of ESPN2’s first- and second-round telecasts.
