Rachel Pearson has a story to tell.
From filming her story as a pilot feature, the Los Angeles-based video editor helped inspire colleagues across ESPN to share their stories in similar fashion to help celebrate Pride Month. The six resulting videos, featured under the umbrella “My Voice Matters,” highlight members of the LGBTQIA+ community within ESPN and The Walt Disney Company.
“These short vignettes were intended to bring visibility to the LGBTQIA+ community this Pride Month,” Pearson said. “They offer gay employees the opportunity to share their story and express in their own words why their perspective and voice are so important at ESPN and The Walt Disney Company.”
The videos below were initially featured on My Disney Today, TWDC’s internal website. Pearson filmed and edited her video in ESPN’s Los Angeles Production Center with the support of ESPN’s DMED Production Operations team. The “My Voice Matters” series features other members of ESPN’s EQUAL Employee Resource Group community.
