College GameDay rings the bell at the NYSE

College GameDay built by The Home Depot is taking over New York City for the first time this Saturday, Sept. 23 (9 a.m.-noon ET, ESPN, ESPN App) from Times Square. This morning, the GameDay team headed to the New York Stock Exchange to ring the opening bell.

When asked why ESPN chose Times Square instead of a normal college campus destination for GameDay, Vice President, Production, Lee Fitting answered, “People ask: Why bring ‘GameDay’ to New York City? My answer is very simple: Why not? We like to do things that are unpredictable … There’s no way that this won’t be fun. We like to be fun.”
