Today, we announce the upcoming retirement of longtime ESPN Radio executive producer John “Chief” Martin, who will bring his more than 25-year career at ESPN to a close after the MLB All-Star Game on July 11. Over a 40-year career, Martin has cemented himself as a pioneer and distinguished figure in sports broadcasting.

Since then, he has been a part of every nearly every major sporting event in the country and has been integral in bringing those marquee broadcasts to ESPN Radio – from the NFL, NBA, MLB and College football, to FIFA World Cup Soccer, US Open Golf, The Open Championship, The World Cup of Hockey and many more. Martin has overseen the production of an astounding 4,200 events on ESPN Radio.
