LOS ANGELES – This weekend ESPN and ESPN Deportes are here to cover the third installment of Premier Boxing Champions on ESPN featuring the anticipated bout between Southern California-based superstars: undefeated Leo “El Terremoto” Santa Cruz and former three-division world champion Abner Mares. The fight card airs Saturday at 10 p.m. ET on ESPN; weigh-ins today will be featured on the 6 p.m. ET SportsCenter.

As part of the company’s effort to deliver high-quality boxing events, this long-awaited battle is considered to be one of the most anticipated of the year and evenly matched fights in the sport. Therefore, ESPN has deployed a staff of more than 100 people who are in L.A. to produce numerous shows, segments and content across platforms, including teams from Mexico, Bristol, New York and Los Angeles.

The production includes a takeover of the Staple Center’s Plaza in downtown L.A., with shows and live segments starting this afternoon for the weigh-in event including ESPN’s SportsCenter, ESPN Deportes’ Golpe a Golpe and Nacion ESPN.

The action continues Saturday with live coverage of the fight supplemented by extensive pre/post coverage across all platforms. For more details on coverage and schedule, visit ESPN MediaZone.
