Before working on coverage of 2015 Pro Bowl, Gruden reflects on coaching in 2001 game

MNF analyst Jon Gruden will call the 2015 Pro Bowl this Sunday (8 p.m. ET, ESPN) with play-by-play commentator Mike Tirico and sideline reporter Lisa Salters, but it wasn’t that long ago that he coached in this game.

As the Oakland Raiders head coach, Gruden was on the AFC sidelines for the 2001 Pro Bowl. In the video above, he shares memories of that game and talks about what it was like coaching players he normally coached against.

In addition to the game, Gruden, Tirico and Salters will have live interviews on SportsCenter today (12-3:30 p.m. ET, ESPN) from the Pro Bowl practices at Scottsdale (Ariz.) Community College.

Editor’s note: ESPN’s Pro Bowl Sunday coverage from University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz., includes a two-hour Postseason NFL Countdown pregame show (6 p.m. ET, ESPN). For more information, visit ESPN MediaZone.
