Hours after winning his second career Daytona 500 on Sunday, Dale Earnhardt Jr. celebrated a second milestone: He officially joined Twitter. He had made winning the event again a condition for joining the popular social media platform.

Tuesday, @DaleJr’s expanding Twitter following – already more than 235,000 strong before he issued his first Tweet early Monday morning – chimed in as Earnhardt appeared on several ESPN platforms during a “Car Wash” in Bristol. Less than 24 hours after his ESPN appearances, Earnhardt has seen his Twitter following more than double to more than 508,000 followers as of 9 a.m. ET this morning.
