Race fans are used to seeing and hearing from ESPN’s pit reporters during NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series race telecasts as they describe pit stops, interview drivers and crew chiefs and report fast-breaking news.
But Dave Burns, Jamie Little, Dr. Jerry Punch and Vince Welch aren’t flying solo in the busy NASCAR pit areas. They each have a support team working with them and all are carrying state-of-the-art equipment.
In this video for Front Row, Welch introduces three members of his support team and demonstrates the equipment they use, providing a look behind the scenes of ESPN’s NASCAR coverage.
ESPN will start its telecasts of the final 17 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races of the season with the July 28 Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
