Parsons Takes Gold in Snowmobile Speed & Style
Aspen, Colo. – Due to his pro snocross background and his freestyle success, Joe Parsons entered the Snowmobile Speed & Style competition at Winter X Games 15 as the event favorite.
And he certainly lived up to the billing, scoring a 93.59 in the gold medal match to take home the top prize.
“It hugely important,” Parsons said of his snocross background. “(Heath) Frisby has the wildest tricks and I am up there a little bit, but it is a conglomerate of my speed and tricks that got me the gold.”
Parsons defeated his teammate and good friend Heath Frisby in the finals.
“We are teammates for Monster and to both come out here and win is awesome,” Frisby said. “Silver is awesome, I never thought I would medal in this event.”
In the bronze medal match, Cory Davis defeated Daniel Bodin 100.48 to 86.66.
Speed & Style returns to Winter X Games 15 with a new Moto X-inspired format. The event combines the gravity-defying tricks of Freestyle and edge-of-your-seat racing of SnoCross.

Winter X Games will celebrate its 15th anniversary in Aspen/Snowmass, Colo. January 27-30, 2011, with live coverage on ESPN and ESPN2. This will mark the 10th consecutive year Winter X Games will be held in Aspen and will feature new events, more than 200 athletes and primetime coverage on ESPN on Sun., Jan.30. In addition to 24 hours of live programming on ESPN, Winter X Games 15 will be offered for the first time on ESPN 3D, as well as on ESPN International, XGames.com, ESPN360.com, SportsCenter and ESPN2’s X Center.
