ESPN generated its highest-rated Sunday Night Baseball presented by Taco Bell telecast of 2019 last night as the New York Yankees defeated the Boston Red Sox to avoid a four-game sweep. The telecast delivered a 1.9 metered market rating, up 73 percent from last year’s comparable game between the Chicago Cubs and the St. Louis Cardinals (1.1 rating), according to Nielsen.

Last night’s telecast peaked with a 2.2 rating from 10-10:15 p.m. ET. It drew a 9.4 rating in the Boston market and a 4.8 rating in the New York market.

The Yankees and Red Sox will square off again, this time in the Bronx, on the next edition of Sunday Night Baseball, August 4, at 7 p.m. Matt Vasgersian will provide commentary with analysts Alex Rodriguez and Jessica Mendoza, and reporter Buster Olney.
