ESPN’s College GameDay Built by The Home Depot – college football’s longest running and most celebrated pregame show – will travel to Eugene, Ore., and the campus of the University of Oregon on Saturday, Sept. 6. The weekly three-hour Emmy Award-winning show (Saturday 9 a.m.-noon) will originate from Memorial Quad and site of No. 7 Michigan State at No. 3 Oregon.
Hosted by Chris Fowler, the GameDay team consists of analysts Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard and David Pollack with reporting by Samantha Ponder, Tom Rinaldi, Scott Van Pelt, George Whitfield and Gene Wojciechowski.
College GameDay’s nuggets:
- GameDay’s visit to Eugene is the first time in which Oregon will be facing a non-conference opponent.
- Corso has picked the Ducks 15 times, and Oregon is 11-4 in those games.
- This marks the ninth time GameDay has been at the site of a Michigan State game. The Spartans are 4-4 in the previous eight games.
- Corso has picked the Spartans twice – and been correct both times – including the Rose Bowl last year.
- Since the start of the 2009 season, GameDay has visited 14 Pac-12 on-campus games (this being the 14th). In the same span, GameDay has been to 16 SEC and 10 Big Ten sites (excluding Conference Championship games, Bowl games and neutral-site games).
- Saturday’s matchup marks the 79th time GameDay has been on campus for a top-10 game.
- Corso has lost his week two pick each of the last two years – last year Michigan beat Notre Dame and in 2012, Florida topped Texas A&M.
