Pardon the Interruption rarely leaves the friendly confines of its Washington, D.C. studio, but today is a special occasion. Co-hosts Tony Kornheiser and Michael Wilbon will host the show from Northwestern University’s newly-renovated Welsh-Ryan Arena in Evanston, Ill., before their alma maters – Kornheiser’s Binghamton Bearcats and Wilbon’s Northwestern Wildcats – play one another in a men’s college basketball game.
After hosting PTI (5:30 p.m. ET), the ESPN duo will also work with play-by-play voice Will Flemming to call the basketball game (7 p.m., ESPNEWS and ESPN3).
The Chicago Tribune spoke with Wilbon this week about this unique assignment and how he relishes the opportunity to return to NU. The school is expecting a packed house for the show.
